It is pretty cool to see you guys are still having time and “fun” editing some good vids…
What happened is sooo lame I m freakin ashame to be French…
This is good to see you can count on good guys to help you sort things out.
And by the way, you ripped yesterday !!!
Ed
wow looks like you got some great friends and fellow tour guys that are keen to help you out Cj thats the time when you know who your ture mates are. when they’ll give you the board out of their quiver.(or shirt off their back)
Still a carppy thing to happpen.
I was on the goldie last week brought a barnd new firewire flew home to New Zealand unpacked my prised new board to find baggage handlers had smashed it.
gutted.
good luck with the rest of the Comp mate stay cool
CJ I saw your heat yesterday and the interview on the beach after the heat, you’re the man, your not giving up in that heat was inspirational, I have a good feeling with all this story, stolen boards, borrowed ones from friends, broken borrowed board on heat…. no giving up, you have to win this event, I really think you will!!!!
Bummer on the boards. Wish the best through the Europe leg.
What’s the deal with you paying for boards? I’ve never been one to bitch and moan about pros getting free boards, but I really thought you had them handed to you…Is it cause you and Damo get boards from everyone? Do you have to ride exclusively for someone to get freebies? What’s the deal?
major props to you CJ for handling this the way you have. i would have been FUMING and ready to roll some heads (which i’m sure that thought crossed your mind at one point). at a certain point though, you have to just move on and deal with the cards handed to you and you’ve done a stellar job at just that. Bravo to you for being a class act.
which board was the one you tossed on the beach? LOL that was classic, i know i shouldn’t laugh but it’s just funny how real and down to earth you are. cuz that’s prolly what i would have done. but hey, all things aside, you did pretty good in that heat against riou. true surfers can handle all kinds of boards and score sick waves!! hey, maybe this isn’t a bad thing, you get to test out different boards and maybe you’ll land one you like better than your old ones! God bless cj, damo u lucked out this time…
@seth yeah man pretty much have to ride exclusive to get free ones, like any busines you have to make a desision where to spend $ to make money.me and damo just thought it was time, who nows though.
@whocares the one thrown on the beach was the one i signed last year and pulled out the rafters.it buckled right above the fins when i launched that credit card air.so i thaught i’d take some frustration out on the nose.
Ceej, saw you surfing really well at trestles last week on that tokoro with the swallow tail…I know what is like to have a magic board. But after watching your round two heat I was truly inspired, your a professional and your mind set is right on. The glass is half full! Lets just hope the swell pumps for the next two events after this and you can ride some of those 6′1”. From one Florida boy to another, stay strong, rise above and keep your eye on the prize!
That sucks bro. I agree with Whocares? – the magic isn’t in the board. I think you should jump on that Firewire, pull a Bourez. If it works out, maybe a little sponsorship action? hahah
That’s the way to keep it up!!Positive!!
Surfing the way you did in your heat, was incredible!!
But the one surfer having Bad Karma, was M.Picon for saying this:
“It would have to be at least three or four guys to steal nine boards. Some Spanish guys come up here and steal a lot [around Quik Pro time]. It’s happened before. They come here, they steal and they go back there.”
Some Spanish guys???If you don’t know who they were,don’t say a word.But hey,Picon lost in 2rd…ouch!!
We can’t wait to see you surf Mundaka, hope you get your boards back!! Good Luck for the rest of the contest.
Au Revoir Picon
CJ, it’s such a shame that someone would have the nerve to swipe your quiver during the comp. Regardless, at least you’re looking at the whole situation in a positive light…which is always a plus! Good things always emerge from unexpected, negative situations.
Best of luck to you and your brother during the comp. Hopefully I’ll manage to swing by Sebastian Inlet as I have never been there before….heard lots of good things about that area.
That sucks man. People have no respect. Cool that you are getting some new boards out of it. Good to ride new things every once and a while. Too bad you were forced into it… Let us know how you like that firewire.
I just watched Damo charing Teahuppo clip on Surfline, I cant believe how insance the barrels were that he was getting. It looked so big, usually guys paddle into that wave at that size. He got like 10 hube bombs, I have so much respect that you guys charge waves like that, each wave was so gnarly. I always thought it would be awesome to be a pro surfer, but I would never charge some of the waves you guys do, you guys need a major pay $$ raise.
@DAMO I hope that the bad Karma that touched M.Picon for blaming the Spaniards without any kind of proof doesn’t touch you. I don’t know why you say it was not a Frenchman because they are not like that. There’s asshole in every corner of the world, and what we do know is that whoever took those boards is an asshole. By the way, whoever took those boards had inside info on where pros were staying and knew where and what to look for. I think that a theory of a conspiracy from another Pro or a major brand is just as valid as the comments from Mr. Picon. If we are going to talk about fiction why not talk about conspiracies that are way more fun and interesting than talking the easy route and blame the neighbours.
CJ wish you the best and I´ll put my money on you to win the contest.
Man, that sucks. Frenchies love to steal shit.. its in their anarchistic blood. I once read some graffiti on toliet wall in Morocco, near El Jadida.. i think.. i never forgot it: “France, full of dog shit and thieves” It’s not all bad though, they make good bread.
Uppss! I guess the Bad Karma touched Damo.
@CJ now with Parko out you are a title contender and if you win here, I think you have half of the World title in your pocket. Mundaka will be yours and Supertubos in Portugal I think will suit your surfing. Hope it all comes around
are Damo’s boards that different? what boards does he surf compared to yours? you couldn’t have just swiped a few of his for the comp? well i guess it’s better you didn’t.
True,he (M.Picon) can only blame going home in 2rd for surfing as he did…at his home;)
By saying (as he was a police officer), that the Spanierds took the boards, show’s the monkey brain he has…nothing to do with bad Karma!! See you at the Txopos Bar Micky, mind your wallet…
Could of happened anywhere, but I’ll take this opportunity to ask, How does Europe have 3 ASP events this year and North America (including Hawaii) combined have only 2? What a joke. The ASP has sold out to the highest bidder it seems. I mean I can understand Mundaka, because that place does get sick, but if you’re going to include beachbreaks, at least put Puerto Escondido on the tour. That way you get a chance of some truly epic conditions. France just doesn’t do it for me.
True enough, it is the times we live in, unfortunately. It was good of TB and the rest to help hook you back up. Good friends are one of life’s true treasures, the rest will eventually get their just end.
By the way, why’d you go so mental after creasing your board in round 2??? IT did seem to fire you up, as you took charge of the heat after…
Sorry Damo is out of the comp so early… get them at Mundaka.
Jeffe, read the posts above and cj explained, that board was the one he borrowed from the shop, the one that he signed and gave to euroglass last year. it buckled above the fins when he pulled that air in round 2. hope it helps.
Ya I weigh 10-15lb more than CJ, he rides 5′11 and I ride 6′0.5 so my boards don’t work for him, Also love the way Miguel has twisted my words and some how implied that I have said things because of what someone else said. You are pretty funny and seem to love a good conspiracy theory. I was going to go along the lines of Aliens took CJ’s boards because that night he did see some bright lights through his window. Any info on this stuff around here would be of help
@Damo Thanks! I tried my hardest to be sensationalist. I really wanted to give a Metaphysical explanation to the disappearance
of the boards with a CJ win in the contest. I guess it´s not possible anymore. Really, wish you two good results in the remaining two stops of the Euro leg.
That blows dude…….,but your boards are unique only you and your brother have boards like that, so Nobody is gonna be able to surf those without being catch on a phone camera or so….still sucks though.
@cj : i saw the interview on the webcast after your last heat in hoseegor…althoug it sucks u lost , just wanted to say it was really amazing been able to witness how intense your feelings and insight were at the time…its great to have such a sport guy like u on the tour who is actually willing to open up and speak honestly his thoughts at such a moment…thanks! by the way i just came back home from california, went there to visit a friend and went every day the contest was on to trestles, i even got a picture with u and shouted GO CJ! every time you were walking towards the right side of the beach to your heat hahah! anyways id be shouting from my computer for the rest of the events to try and send some good vibes for u…so yeah outcompete those guys early in the heats from now on dude (AWESOME heat against Alain though) and watch that interview everytime before you go down to the beach in mundaka so you dont forget how u felt and use it…GO CJ!!!! PD: everytime they webcast that commercial from the asp where a couple of surfers are forced to say BEST WAVES BEST whatever…seriously they should really stop using that clip…it was frustrating at trestles just by watching from the sand…cant imagine what its like for surfers competing, something has to change…
Just like Albert, i think that interview was amazing, you realy showed a competitive side of surfing that normaly goes out of the flashing lights.
One big shout to Tiago, about time he nailed one of you guys, last year he won to Kelly at perfect Uluwatu and this year in terrible Hossegor showing what a great surfer he is…GO SACA.
I hope things are good with you, its been a busy few months for SBT, we have tweaked our systems, made a few improvements with real neat features to help improve the license and brand protection side of things for you guys.

Larry B will be helping us promote SBT across the Hawaiian Islands by using SBT for all his shapes, via his own workshops, Rebel Boards,California and Santa Cruz, USA.
Daniel Keggy has been producing some great things in Newquay UK, and seems to be swallowing up the whole competition board scene with his shapes.
Ben Skinner has been on fire this year in the ISA surfing Games and the WLT, with his board riding Ben, Ben was just crowned as European Longboard Champion, Ben uses SBT to manage his license with Lufi Longboards, Portugal plus his own Skindog shapes.
Thomas from Keahana is currently out on an European tour with board producers Euroglass, Pukas, Lufi, with his 150 Keahana boards shaped by Christian Budroe – Christian Surfboards Hawaii, each board contains the SBT system to help protect Keahana, and Christian plus all the other things SBT does.
“Hey! CJ take a look at SBT” be good to hear from you”…..
Local Motion, Australia are in full blast with the system for their overseas models and their higher range shapes in NSW.
SBT is in current discussions with ISAF and the Windsurfing RSX Class in preparation for future world championships and 2012. SBT is hoping to provide SBT the class hardware to help traceabilty of hardware and to make sure all competitors are competing on an even keel.

Hi CJ we developing SBT around the world just wondered if you wanted to consider getting involved with us guys and help promote SBT out on the tour…..especialy when our system is a defence against board theives, and after all SBT sterted out from Hossegor after the exact same thing happened to you.
