Between these 6 surfers, they have had 34 starts and only lost in round one 5 times, Parkinson has not lost in round 1 at all in the two wave era…
Only twice have they not been past round 3 and posted 17th placings, Taj in 2003 and Kelly in 2005
These 6 surfers have shared 5 of the 6 titles and have all 6 runner-ups in the two wave era with the other winner being Trent Munro at Woolami in 2005.
Between them they have 5 x 1st … 6 x 2nd … 4 x 3rd … 11 x 5th … 6 x 9th and 2 x 17th… No 33rds.
The only surfer in this top 6 to not make the final since 2003 is Mick Fanning, yet he is ranked 3rd.
Fanning does have a Bell in his collection from 2001 when he won as a wild card. Andy also has another Bell from 2002.
In the last 6 years of Bells events, only 7 surfers have made it to the final heat, the 6 surfers mentioned above and Trent Munro the 2005 winner.
